Disclaimer

In short: Battery Choice gives you an informed starting point — not a quote, not financial advice, and not a guarantee of any rebate or installer outcome. Always verify with a licensed installer before you commit money.
1. Prices are estimates
Every dollar figure on this site — the "you pay" total, the battery/inverter/installation line items, the rebate amount, and the payback period — is generated by our AI using publicly available data and the information you provide. The actual price an installer charges you may be materially higher or lower.
Common reasons a real quote differs from our estimate:
- Regional labour rates and installer margins.
- On-site conditions we cannot detect (switchboard age, cable runs, roof material, permits, three-phase upgrades).
- Wholesale price changes since we last updated our catalogue.
- Optional extras — monitoring hardware, warranty upgrades, backup circuits.
2. Battery and inverter recommendations
Our AI selects battery brands and sizes based on your answers, your uploaded photos (bill, switchboard, roof, install location), and the market data we hold. The recommendation is informational only and does not replace advice from a licensed electrician or CEC-accredited battery installer, who must physically inspect your site before committing to a design.
Battery brand tier positioning (T1–T8) is our subjective assessment of price, warranty, service network, and hardware quality. Other reviewers may rank differently.
3. Government rebates
Federal rebates (Cheaper Home Batteries Scheme / CBRS, Small-scale Technology Certificates / STC) and the state incentives shown on the results page are estimated using the rules in force at the time of your evaluation.
- Rebate amounts and eligibility change as the schemes are updated by government.
- The battery model you install must be on the CEC-approved product list at the time of installation to be eligible for the federal CBRS rebate.
- State rebates (Victorian Solar Homes, NSW PDRS, SA HBS, etc.) have their own means-testing, timing rules, and eligible-installer lists.
We do not guarantee that you will actually receive any rebate. Always confirm current eligibility with your installer and the relevant scheme before you sign a contract.
4. Payback and savings
Payback years and annual savings shown on each card are derived from your usage inputs, current retail tariffs, and current feed-in rates. Actual savings depend on future electricity prices, your household's consumption patterns, how well the battery is dispatched (self-consumption vs. VPP), weather, and hardware degradation.
5. VPP and energy plan information
VPP (virtual power plant) earnings, feed-in tariff comparisons, and energy retailer plan details are shown for your reference and were correct to the best of our knowledge when last updated. Terms, sign-up bonuses, and rates change frequently — always confirm on the retailer's own website before switching.
6. Not financial advice
Battery Choice does not provide financial product advice, tax advice, or investment advice. Payback years, "you save" figures, and rebate estimates are provided so you can compare options — they are not a recommendation to purchase any particular product or a projection of future returns. If you need advice tailored to your circumstances, consult a licensed adviser.
7. Installer conduct
If you submit a quote request, we introduce your details to independent installer businesses. We are not responsible for their sales practices, quote accuracy, installation quality, warranty service, or any dispute arising from the work.
8. Consumer guarantees
Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes any guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
